It doesn't require much, but you need to pay attention to a few details

  • Get your ticket in time: You can't just show your season ticket to the driver. You have to pick up a free ticket in the Rejsebillet appThe ticket is typically available a few days before the concert.

  • Only the yellow buses: The offer applies to all city buses in Aarhus. The light rail, regional buses and trains are not part of the scheme.

No, it is generally not permitted to bring your own drinks into Tivoli Friheden.

You are welcome to enjoy your brought food at the benches set up in the park, but on Fat Friday we recommend using the large selection of food stalls and restaurants such as Madscenen and Backstage for the full experience.

Are there tour bands included in my ticket?

No, regular concert tickets do not include tour bands.
You can purchase a tour band for 120 DKK and get access to all the park's rides.
If you have a Deluxe season ticket, tour bands are automatically included – also for Fat Friday.

When do the concerts start?

The concerts for Fat Friday typically start at 8:00 PM. However, we recommend arriving well in advance, as the doors open earlier and there is often pressure to get in.
Many people choose to come at 6:00 PM and eat in the park before the music.
Afterwards, Hermans invites you to an afterparty with a DJ and a cozy atmosphere, the music often matches the genre of the concert.

How many guests are attending?

A typical Fat Friday concert attracts between 8.000 and 10.000 guests.
In total, around 180.000 people visit the concerts each season.
At the largest concerts, there can be up to 15.000 guests in the park.

Fat Friday has become an established Aarhus tradition, transforming Tivoli Friheden into the city's largest outdoor venue. But the experience starts long before the music starts. Whether you have a Season Pass or buy a day ticket, here's a guide to getting the most out of your evening.

Since the major upgrade of the stage in 2022, the concert experience at Friheden has been elevated to international level. The towering stage ensures that the sound reaches crisply to the back row, while the large screens give everyone a clear view of the artists.

Want the best view of the evening? Then you can upgrade your experience with access to one of the three exclusive observation towers. Here you get a panoramic view of the sea of ​​people and the stage, and as an added bonus, two of the towers have toilets at the bottom, so you can skip the queue.

Food and drink – Eat before the concert

Make the concert an all-night experience by starting with dinner in the park. The capacity fills up quickly on concert days, so it is recommended to book a table or arrive well in advance.
