THIS – Future of Media & Content Festival
by: Christina Hazelden

On November 5–6, Vue will be held in Bruun's Gallery of Life. The media industry in all its forms will meet here. International profiles. Nordic talents. Series writers. Musicians. THIS. Future of Media & Content. is two days of inspiration, networking and the latest trends. All gathered in the middle of Aarhus.

THIS CONFERENCE. The media landscape of the future

The first day is about the big questions. How do you survive in an industry where audiences are constantly switching platforms? What stories do we need to tell if we want to be relevant in the future?

The program is in English and offers presentations such as:

  • Future of Marketing. Fck Being Humble with Stefanie Sword-Williams
  • Future of News. Breaking the Scroll
  • Future of Public Service. Public Trust in a Private Era

On stage are names such as Naja Nielsen, media director at SVT, and Stig Ørskov, CEO at JP/Politikens Hus. Today's host is festival director Felicia Elisabeth Jackson. The atmosphere is close, and you can expect the conversations during the break to be at least as inspiring as the presentations from the stage.

Series Awards 2024 Vinterberg

THIS SERIES. Stories with impact

Day two is the day of series. Here, writers, producers and creative forces meet to talk about how series are made. How they gain social relevance. How they impact us culturally and spark conversations that we take home.

On the program you will find topics such as Future Series 2026. Stories for Primetime and Future of Screenwriting. Creating the Worlds We Want to Watch. You can meet profiles such as Piv Bernth from Apple Tree Productions, Peter Bose from Miso Film, Misam Avaz from Forty Five Films and Henriette Marienlund from DR Drama.

The day ends with the Series Awards. Denmark's first and largest awards ceremony for series. Last year we followed the mood in Film city, where Thomas Vinterberg received the audience award. Mahamad Habane created laughter from the stage. And young talents like Clint Ruben were celebrated together with experienced directors. This year it is Peter Mygind who leads us through the evening. Twelve awards are presented, including Best Miniseries, Best Screenplay and the audience award Aarhus Series Award.

Series Awards is part of Aarhus Series. A broad-ranging festival that has made series a shared experience in the city since 2019. The festival was created by Filmby Aarhus and has grown to become Denmark's only and the Nordic region's largest series festival. Here, the audience, actors, directors and creators meet. Exclusive premieres and nostalgic reunions are shown, and talks take the audience very close to the camera and into the creative processes.

THIS MUSIC. The sound of the future

THIS MUSIC. The sound of the future

The music has moved in as its own track. And that makes sense. THIS MUSIC, created in collaboration with Promus, focuses on how sound shapes experiences in films, series and games.

This is about soundtracks, scores and sync music. How they create identity. How they impact a generation that lives with headphones in their ears.

You can meet international music supervisors like Jenn Egan and Hayley Smith. Hosted by Nis Bøgvad. Topics range from the Future of Soundtracks. How to Hook Gen Z to the role of AI in the future of music creation.

It is a place where music and media people meet, and where sound and image merge into the stories of the future.

A compact festival in the middle of the city

With Vue as a framework, THIS feels clear, intense and present. Everything takes place under one roof, just a few steps from the train station and the city's cafes. You can go from a talk about the future of public service to a cup of coffee with a potential collaboration partner.

THIS is the place where you learn more about your industry, make new contacts and feel the pulse of where media, series and music are heading.
