Sculpture treasure hunt in Marselisborg Palace Park – A guide to art under the open sky
Follow your artistic compass around the park and explore a unique mix of art and nature in Marselisborg Castle Park. Apart from being a beautiful oasis with green lawns, fragrant flower beds and majestic trees, the park is also home to a distinguished collection of sculptures. Works by both Danish and international artists adorn the park's landscape and invite you to an inspiring treasure hunt under the open sky.

Be respectful of the sculptures and the park which is the Royal Family's private garden when they are on holiday at Marselisborg Castle.
Only touch the sculptures where it is allowed.

The super egg
Artist: Piet Hein.
The egg is made of fiberglass and coated with metal and is 1,75 cm high. The egg has been in the garden since 2003
Marcelisa
Artist: Miguel Berrocal (Spain)
The sculpture is made of fiberglass that is patinated with bronze.
Torso
Artist: Prince Henrik.
A double bisexual torso with both the soft female lines and the harder male ones.
Marselisborg Jar
Artist: Peter Brandes.
The jar is 4.8 meters high and weighs 6 tonnes. The jar is fired at Tommerup Teglværk.
Loving couple
Artist: Prince Henrik
The sculpture is a gift from the Prince for the Queen's 70th birthday.
Bronze sculpture
Artist: Sonja Mancoba
The sculpture represents unity between people and is 77 cm high.
A milestone
The large stone that stands in the orchard is a gift from the Port of Copenhagen to the Queen on her 50th birthday.
Without title
Artist: Per Kirkeby Stele.
The sculpture has been donated by the Salling Foundation for the Queen's 80th birthday.
The Ring Bearer's Jacket
Artist: Jens Galschiøt Christophersen.
The sculpture is inspired by Frodo's jacket. On the jacket there are 8 small buttons with the Queen's drawings engraved on them.
The wardrobe bench
The bench is a birthday gift to Prince Henrik from the Danish Gardening Associations in 1994.
The 3 lions
Artist: Claus Ørntoft.
The 3 granite lions in front of the castle stand directly on the grass and weigh 5 tons each.
