GODS is not just a restaurant. It is a gathering point. A modern folk kitchen with a focus on good Danish ingredients, sustainable solutions and a relaxed atmosphere where everyone is welcome – right in the middle of Aarhus' creative center at Godsbanen.

Formerly known as Spiselauget, but now with a new name and renewed energy, GODS offers tasty dishes, good prices and a special hospitality that makes you feel welcome and at home from the first bite.

A kitchen with attitude – and love for Danish ingredients

At GODS, food is not just about satiety – it's about taste, presence and carefully selected ingredients. The menu is based on Danish cuisine and changes with the seasons. Fermentation and pickling are carried out here during the winter months, so that colorful, tasty dishes can still be served all year round.

For example, you will find open sandwiches from 29 DKK, soup for 21 DKK and a good cup of coffee for just 15 DKK. GODS maintains its ambition to be for everyone – with food that is both accessible and ambitious.

Social dining with space for fellowship

Social dining is alive and well at GODS. It's all about gathering around food, sharing experiences and enjoying each other's company – whether you're for a quick lunch, a 5-course dinner or just a beer in the foyer.

The previous concept evenings at Spiselauget have been given new life in the GODS universe, where community and hospitality are still key words. You can expect intimate dining experiences in an informal setting, where the food is allowed to speak – and the guests to meet.

Raw, cozy and creative – part of the pulse of Godsbanen

GODS is located in the heart of Godsbanen’s creative environment – a place where art, design and culture unfold side by side. The restaurant is decorated with industrial lamps from old factories, upcycled furniture and local artwork on the walls, all of which contribute to an atmosphere that is both raw and warm.

Everything that could be recycled from the Dining Guild has been recycled – from the tables to the handmade cutlery jars created in Godsbanen's open workshops. This is sustainability in practice, and it is noticeable in the details.

A café, a stage and a meeting place

GODS is also the place you come to, even when you don't have a big meal. Come in from the street and have a cup of coffee, relax in the foyer, have a drink before an event – or just hang around and experience the atmosphere unfold. It's a place where you can land in the city and feel the community, without needing an occasion.

The evening atmosphere is often supported by music and events, and GODS also functions as an event location where food and culture meet naturally.
