A park with history in the middle of Aarhus C
The City Hall Park is one of the most central parks in Aarhus. It is used every day by Aarhusians, students and visitors who take a break on the grass or take a walk among the old trees. At the same time, the park hides a history that goes back further than Aarhus City Hall.

From cemetery to city park
It's hard to imagine today, but Rådhusparken was a cemetery until 1926. Several of the large trees date from that time, and along the wall there are still around 30 historic tombstones, reminiscent of the area's origins.
In the park you will also find the memorial stone for the 40 Aarhusians who lost their lives during the wars of the 1800th century.
Crocus, perennial garden and sculptures
Every spring, the City Hall Park is covered in thousands of purple and white crocuses, making the area one of the most photographed places in Aarhus. Later in the year, the perennial garden by the City Hall takes over with flowering beds and green ferns.
In the middle of the garden stands the sculpture The Pregnant Woman, which has been part of the park since 1955.
The city's meeting place all year round
The City Hall Park is used year-round. In the summer, the lawns are filled with people having lunch, reading or meeting friends, while each year Aarhus Festuge transforms the area into part of the city's large cultural scene.
The park's location between Aarhus City Hall, the Music Hall and ARoS also makes it a natural stop on a walk through the city center.
