When should you choose a parasol over an awning?

It is important to be able to shield yourself from the sun on your balcony or terrace, which is why you should get a parasol or awning. Since there are advantages and disadvantages associated with both, no one choice is always the right one.

This means you have to figure out what makes the most sense for you. Do you have e.g. several terraces where you want to use the same sun protection, an awning is not the right solution. This is naturally due to the fact that it is fixed to the wall.

Do you want a flexible solution?

If it is a requirement that you get a flexible solution, do not choose an awning. As indicated above, it is mounted on the wall by your terrace or balcony. Therefore, it is not possible to move it without first having to screw it down and then mount it again.

If you have several terraces or balconies where you want to use the same sun protection, a parasol is therefore the right thing. The same is the case if you have a large terrace that you want to be able to move around. With a parasol, you can simply move it with you when you move.

Is the price decisive for you?

Of course, you can easily find cheap awnings on the Danish market, but that does not change the fact that they are usually more expensive than parasols. If you don't want to spend too much money on sun protection, you are therefore best served with a parasol.

The very fact that an awning is relatively expensive makes many people opt out of them. Although they are more expensive, for many they may be worth paying for, as they come with many advantages. Therefore, it is important that you consider your choice very carefully before making your decision.

Do you live for rent?

If you live in a rental property, it is not certain that you will or must install an awning. There may be a requirement that you may not drill into the brickwork, which will mean that you cannot fit an awning. Likewise, it can also be a large expense for a rental property.

Of course, you can easily dismantle it and take it with you when you move, but that doesn't exactly make the move any easier. That is why most people who live for rent choose to invest in a parasol. It seems to be the most optimal solution in this situation.
