The scenes at NorthSide 2026

The festival site in Eskelunden is created for both big moments and small discoveries. Here you get the familiar mix of open stages, tented spaces, intimate nooks and surprising artistic pockets.

ASTRA
The large outdoor stage, where the biggest names gather the audience in one unified wave of song, light and summer energy. Here it gets loud, warm and communal.

NOVA
The large tent stage with space for both electronic universes, heavy beats and concert experiences in rain-friendly shade. Nova is the stage where you disappear into the music.

LUNA
The intimate stage where you can discover your new favorites. There's room for eye contact, little laughs and the concerts you'll be talking about for the rest of the year.

SIDE SHOW
NorthSide's creative playground. Performance, poetry, art and moments you can't plan. Come here when you need to be surprised.

See more from Northside

NorthSide is not just a festival, it's atmospheres, people and small moments that together create something very special.

From glitter wrestling and creative oases at the edge of the forest to magnificent concerts, spontaneous dance moves and intimate breaks among the trees. Here, audiences meet across genres, generations and expectations, and every day feels like its own little story.

In the articles here, we delve into everything that makes NorthSide an experience, both the big stages and the quiet pockets between them.

Last day at NorthSide hits differently

Mud, gray skies and an audience full of glitter, beads and strong opinions. AySay used the stage to protest, the embroidery tent buzzed with concentration, and in Sideshow there was glitter wrestling. Denzel Curry made the Nova tent explode. A last day that wasn't pretty, but real.

Lukas Graham - Northside 2025 - Photo Wyrle Studio

The rain was pouring down, the stage was sailing, and yet the sun appeared the moment Lukas walked on. No big visuals, no effects, just songs, stories and a presence that carried the entire concert.
From singing and laughing together to quiet moments with tears in the corners of our eyes, it was an evening where the music stood alone. Honest, raw and full of heart.

NorthSide 2025 found its magic in a new corner of the festival

The new area by the trees attracted people with its coziness, lights in the treetops, flower garlands, silent music and small oases that felt like a festival within a festival. Steampunk vehicles, performers and a brand new Jägermeister universe created little adventures between the concerts, and Saveus gathered thousands in Nova while the rain poured outside.

Andreas Odbjerg Northside 2024

Andreas Odbjerg at NorthSide 2024

Mud, rain and cold toes didn't stop the party when Andreas Odbjerg took the Astra stage. The audience sang along from the first verse, raincoats came off and on, and Odbjerg paid tribute with hits, humor and lots of heart.
The extras culminated in a loving tribute to Aarhus, as the sun broke through the clouds. A concert that lit up, even in gray weather.

Glitter Wrestling Northside

Glitter wrestling at NorthSide 2024

The Sideshow tent is always packed when glitter wrestling starts. Volunteers from the audience jump into the ring wearing oil, stockings and courage, while glitter rains down on the stage. It's burlesque, chaos and huge laughs all in one, a constant highlight that every day brings together an audience that cheers, cheers and gets completely into the fight.
A little dose of NorthSide madness you can't miss.

Northside 2024 - Love Shop

NorthSide 2024 opened in rain and festive mood

The cloudburst set the scene, but no one was deterred. Love Shop got Astra going despite the delay, UNG-SKAB brought energy and sunshine to Nova, and flower garlands, rubber boots and draft beer quickly became the uniform of the day.

A wet but heartwarming start to three days of NorthSide atmosphere.

Northside festival goers

Festival guests make NorthSide something special

From sunshine to downpours and from plant burgers to family traditions, festivalgoers are the very heart of NorthSide. Here, friends, families and first-timers come together for music, food and little rituals that give the days their rhythm.
For many, it's as much community and Aarhus spirit as concerts and draft beer. NorthSide is everything that happens between the scenes.

Flower wreath Northside

Experiences between concerts at NorthSide

NorthSide 2023 was much more than music. Between the stages, there were creative oases with flower garlands, beads, henna, ceramic bowls, salsa dancing, pole dancing and stilt artists that elevated the festival into an imaginative universe.

A place where guests could play, relax and create memories and where the community grew in every little break between concerts.

Nik & Jay at Northside

The music at NorthSide 2023

NorthSide 2023 delivered a program that spanned a wide range. From indie and pop to hip-hop, electronic and global rhythms, the festival gave audiences the chance to discover new favorites and hear big names like LP, Nik & Jay, Tobias Rahim and Muse.

A musical buffet that showcased the full breadth of NorthSide's sound universe.

The forest edge on NorthSide

In between the scenes, NorthSide hid one of its most magical corners. The forest edge was the place where you could breathe, weave macramé, sip a cold drink and feel the peace under the treetops.

And when darkness fell, the oasis was transformed into a small techno universe with lights in the branches and bass through the forest floor. A free space that became a party and one of the festival's most beloved breathing spaces.

NorthSide 2026 with music, food and community in the middle of Aarhus

NorthSide 2026 will be one of the year's major highlights in Aarhus. The festival in Eskelunden continues to develop, and this year there is a clear shift: NorthSide is opening up, inviting more people in and embracing more broadly than ever before.
Here, generations, styles and moods meet for three days filled with music, community and summer glow, all in the middle of Aarhus.

A line-up with both energy and reflection

The 2026 program reflects exactly the openness that the festival wants to stand for. The audience can look forward to a line-up that ranges widely – from the raw energy of punk to poetic indie and pop that brings us together in song.
The first announced names include IDLES, Tobias Rahim, Jonah Blacksmith, Viagra Boys, Ashes of Billy, Elias Rønnenfelt, Rigmor, Skullcrusher and Østen.

A mix of international names, Danish stars and new voices, which together form a picture of what NorthSide is: a festival that dares to change while at the same time holding on to its soul.

Food returns with room for everyone

NorthSide is known for its strong sustainable profile and for being a festival where things are tested and rethought. This also applies to the food.

In 2022, the festival became 100 percent plant-based, sparking a national debate about food, the environment, and choices.
In 2026, meat and fish will return to the menu, although still with a focus on green dishes and responsible choices.

The new initiative is not about turning our backs on sustainability, but about making room for more. NorthSide wants to bring guests together again regardless of tastes, diets and preferences – and give everyone an experience where community is at the center.

The UNG ticket is being expanded

Students can once again buy the special UNG ticket. What's new this year is that it applies to all students, regardless of whether you are over 25. You just need to be able to show your student card.

Sustainability and social responsibility

The festival is also expanding its focus on sustainability. In addition to the green initiatives, NorthSide is now working on social sustainability and community, including through projects such as the NorthSide forest, which binds CO₂, increases biodiversity and creates new natural oases around Aarhus.
NorthSide is more than music, it's a festival that thinks about how community and culture can create real change.

Eskelunden, Aarhus' new festival heart

Eskelunden once again forms the setting for NorthSide. In just a few years, the area has gained status as Aarhus' new festival heart, where thousands of people gather under the open sky.
Here you will find large stages, intimate spaces, art installations and the special atmosphere that only arises when music, sun and people merge together.
It's laughter between the tents, songs that become memories and concerts that feel special every time.

NorthSide 2026, a community in motion

NorthSide 2026 will be a festival with both edge and love.
An experience where music meets food, and where community is once again the most important ingredient.
There is room here for those who want to dance, those who want to discover, and those who just want to be part of it all.
