Musikhusparken: Aarhus' new park for culture and urban life

The Musikhusparken connects the Musikhuset, ARoS and Rådhusparken with green areas, art and major cultural events.

A new park in the middle of the cultural district

Musikhusparken opened in 2025 as a new gathering point in Aarhus. The park connects some of the city's largest cultural institutions and is designed with space for both everyday breaks and large events. At the same time, James Turrell's Skyspace Dome has become part of the area and adds another striking work of art to the cultural quarter.

Music House Park in Aarhus

Musikhusparken is located between Musikhuset, ARoS and Rådhusparken and acts as a green connection through the cultural quarter. Here you can sit on the grass, follow the winding paths through the planting or take a break while life unfolds around you.

The park has become a natural meeting place for both Aarhusians and visitors who move between the city's cultural institutions.

A park with space for everyone

The Musikhusparken is designed with large lawns, seating areas and paths that invite both short breaks and longer stays. There is room for a picnic, play, a cup of coffee or a quiet moment in the middle of the city.

The park is also designed to accommodate the many people who gather for concerts, festivals and cultural events.

Water art

In the middle of the park lies the water art, created by sculptor Morten Stræde. The water runs over the stone surfaces, while small fountains create movement and life.

On warm days, the area becomes a popular place for children to play, while others use the edge of the pool as a natural resting place.

Wild gardens and green connections

Perennials, grasses and newly planted trees grow between the buildings, giving the park a green appearance all year round. The serpentine path connects Musikhusparken with Godsbanen, making the area a natural part of a walk through Aarhus.

The planting is also designed with a focus on biodiversity and creates habitats for insects and birds in the middle of the city.

The scene and the culture

In front of the Music Hall is the park's large outdoor stage, where free concerts, dance, comedy and other cultural events are held throughout the summer.

The Music House Park also forms the setting for some of Aarhus' biggest events, including SPOT Festival, Aarhus Pride and Aarhus Festuge, where the area is filled with thousands of guests.

The skating rink

When winter comes, part of the Musikhusparken will be transformed into The Ringen ice rinkHere you can rent skates and experience the park in a completely different way with lights, music and a winter atmosphere.

In just a few years, the ice rink has developed into a permanent winter tradition for many Aarhusians.
