Create cafes in Aarhus
Ceramics, jewelry and creative experiences
That's why more people choose creative experiences over café visits
A few years ago we met over a cup of coffee. Today, many go home with a hand-painted cup, a piece of homemade jewelry, or a candle they made themselves.
Creative cafés and DIY experiences are popping up in Aarhus, and what they have in common is that they combine creativity, presence and cozy surroundings. We've been on a trip around the city and visited some of the places where you can unleash your creativity.

Art by Me
Vesterbro Square 4b, 8000 Aarhus
Here you choose your own cups, bowls or dishes, find the brushes and design your own ceramics, which are subsequently glazed and fired.
The place also has a small café where you can order everything from coffee and chai to matcha and hot cocoa while you sit with your brushes.
Create Aarhus
Frederiksgade 24, 8000 Aarhus
Here you can paint ceramics, make your own candles and unleash your creativity with paint. And further inside is a Splatter Room, where paint is welcome to hit both the canvas and the walls.
Meanwhile, you can settle in with a cup of barista coffee, homemade hot chocolate or a chai latte, while baked goods from Berta ensure that no one goes home hungry.
Creative Space Aarhus
Studsgade 7, 8200 Aarhus N
In the Latin Quarter you'll find another popular spot for pottery lovers. The concept is simple: choose your pottery, paint it at your own pace, and come back to pick up the finished result after firing.
Creative Space also has a cozy courtyard behind the cafe, which gives you the opportunity to sit outdoors.
Creating Moments
Søndergade 22, 8000 Aarhus
In the middle of Strøget you will find Creating Moments, which is Søstrene Grene's creative universe. Here the focus is not on one specific activity, but on creativity in many forms.
The café is decorated with small open spaces where you can work on various DIY projects while enjoying a cup of coffee, tea or something sweet from the café area. You can also buy yarn, hobby items and materials to take home.
YONOBI
Grave 24b, 8000 Aarhus
Tucked away in a small backyard in Graben is YŌNOBI. Here, it's not about painting finished ceramics, but about working with clay from scratch and shaping your own cups, bowls and small works of art. Here, the focus is on the process and craftsmanship rather than the perfect result.
Coffee and tea are available for purchase and on warm days the cozy backyard adds to the cozy atmosphere.
JEWELRY BAR Aarhus
Studsgade 2, 8200 Aarhus N
At SMYKBAR in Studsgade, the focus is on jewelry. Here you can put together your own bracelet or necklace from a large selection of beads, stones, pendants and chains in different colors and materials.
During the visit, you choose the parts that will be included in your piece of jewelry, and the result will be a personal design that you can take home the same day.
