K7 Week in Aarhus 2025 with free culture for young people

From September 7 to 13, 2026, young people can get free admission to some of Aarhus' largest museums and exhibition venues. K7 Week returns in week 37, and this year, ARoS, Den Gamle By, Moesgaard Museum, KØN and Museum Ovartaci will participate, among others.

Nationwide, more than 200 museums and exhibition venues are opening their doors, and all you need is a personal K7 card to get in for free. If you are between 18 and 25 years old, you can also buy tickets to selected theater performances and classical concerts for 40 kr.

A whole week of free culture in Aarhus

K7 Week gives you a good opportunity to visit that museum you've been thinking about for a long time, or try a cultural experience you wouldn't normally buy a ticket for.

You can experience art at ARoS, wander around houses and shops in Den Gamle By or get closer to people from the past at Moesgaard Museum. You can also explore gender, body and equality at KØN, see contemporary art at Kunsthal Aarhus or take a journey from the body to space at Steno Museet.

The program for 2026 is not yet fully in place, and several of the cultural venues have announced that more information will be available. For now, you can use the K7 card at these places in and around Aarhus:

Aarhus Symphony Orchestra

The Aarhus Harmoniorkester will be participating in K7 Week again in 2026. The specific program will be announced later.

Aarhus Symphony Orchestra

The K7 card can also be used at the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra. Here you will have the opportunity to experience classical music at a price that most people can afford. The program follows.

ARoS

At ARoS you can explore six galleries and an entire floor of installation art. The museum houses changing exhibitions, large works and Olafur Eliasson's rainbow with a view of Aarhus.

The Occupation Museum

The Occupation Museum is located in Aarhus' former police station, where the German security police Gestapo had its headquarters from 1944 to 1945. It tells the story of Aarhus during the occupation and the people who stood on each side.

Bora Bora

Bora Bora will participate with a double program consisting of the performances PILGRIM and BLACK. The two performances address issues such as identity, belonging, racism and the experience of being black.

The game by

In Den Gamle By you can move through different periods of Danish history. During K7 Week there will also be special experiences for young people, including a night in the collective from 1974, live music and upcycling of clothes from the 1970s.

The Royal Academy of Music

The Royal Academy of Music is also on the list of this year's participants. The detailed program will be announced later.

Ensemble Midwest

Ensemble MidtVest will participate in MakerFest on September 10. Here, classical music meets creativity, technology and innovation in a day of workshops, new ideas and activities for young people and students.

Art Gallery Aarhus

Kunsthal Aarhus has been showing contemporary art since 1917, making it one of the country's oldest exhibition venues for this art form. Here you can experience changing exhibitions in the historic buildings on JM Mørks Gade.

SEX

KØN focuses on gender culture, equality, the body and sexuality. The museum is located in the middle of Aarhus and addresses topics that are both about history and the times we live in now.

Moesgard Museum

At Moesgaard Museum you get close to people from both the past and the present through staged and dramatized stories. The museum's architecture and location in the landscape are also part of the experience.

Ovartaci Museum

Museum Ovartaci tells the story of the artist Ovartaci and art created in psychiatry. The museum contains both Ovartaci's works and changing exhibitions that revolve around art, human life and the right to express oneself.

Natural History Museum Aarhus

The Natural History Museum is located in the University Park and has millions of animals in its collections. The museum also works with research and nature education through the Mols Laboratory in the Mols Bjerge National Park.

Steno Museum

At the Steno Museum you can learn about science, astronomy, the body and the history of medicine. The museum contains exhibitions, a planetarium and a herb garden.

Syddjurs Regional Theatre

Syddjurs Egnsteater is participating with the performance Gud Bevare Danmark. It is a raw and musical story about identity, racism and loyalty seen through the story of the Palestinian teenager Mansur.

What is K7 Week?

The K stands for culture, while the number 7 refers to the seven days of the week in week 37. K7 is a nationwide initiative that aims to make it easier for young people to visit museums, exhibitions, theaters and classic venues.

In 2026, there will be free admission to more than 200 museums and exhibition venues for everyone up to and including the age of 27. Young people between the ages of 18 and 25 can also buy tickets to selected theater performances and classical concerts for 40 kr.

You will need a personal K7 card, which will be displayed at the entrance. The card for 2026 has not yet been released, but will be available on the K7 website.
