Hantwerk – specialty beer, tapas and a southern atmosphere at Aarhus Marina
Hantwerk is Aarhus' informal gastropub with locally brewed beer from Humleland, views of the marina and an atmosphere that balances the rustic with the modern. Located in the original fishing premises at Fiskerivej 2D, between the lapping of the waves and the pulse of the city, Hantwerk has made a name for itself as one of Aarhus' most authentic and relaxed places to enjoy beer, tapas and fellowship.
From the hand-built bar area to the impressive brewing vats at the entrance, the place exudes craftsmanship, history and good humor. Here, microbrewery, presence and a strong love for Aarhus go hand in hand – for both guests and brewers.

A rustic sanctuary with harbor views and high ceilings
When you enter Hantwerk, you encounter the raw and the warm at the same time. The old walls and the raw beams from the heyday of fishing have been preserved, but comfort and character have been added. The room is decorated with recycled furniture, soft chairs, large wine barrels and an industrial ceiling – all of which help to create an atmosphere that is both honest and cozy.
Behind the bar you can see directly into the Humleland brewery, where the beer is produced just a few meters from the tap. Here are brewing vats, the smell of malt and a staff that knows what they are serving – and is happy to tell the story behind it.
Hantwerk is a place to relax and linger. It's not uncommon for a visit to start with a single beer and end in conversation, tastings and tapas at sunset.
21 taps with microbrews, wine and handcrafted sodas
At Hantwerk you will find 21 taps with a changing selection of beers from Humleland – all brewed on site. The selection is wide-ranging: Dark, full-bodied porters, hoppy IPAs, sour saisons and experimental seasonal beers with herbs, fruit or barrel aging.
If you are not familiar with the types of beer, you can taste before you choose, and the staff will guide you with great passion through the many options. In addition, Hantwerk also offers a small but carefully selected wine list, as well as Humleland's own hand-brewed sodas - a popular choice for children and those who prefer non-alcoholic enjoyment.
If you're into southern sensations, you can order a pitcher of sangria, fruity and fresh, perfect for sharing at a sunny table.
Food that matches the atmosphere – tapas and small dishes
At Hantwerk, food is served that goes well with the beer and the surroundings. Tapas and small dishes fill the menu – perfect for sharing, tasting and informal coziness. There is something for the hungry, the curious and those who just want a little salt with their beer.
The menu changes constantly and is based on seasonal ingredients and the kitchen's creativity. There are both vegetarian and meat-based dishes, and the food is intended to be an experience that plays together with the drink menu.
You can start with a selection of snacks and finish with a larger dish – or settle for tapas and several rounds of beer. There are no fixed frameworks here – just good taste and a good setting to enjoy it in.
A terrace with first-class sea views
Hantwerk's large terrace is an attraction in itself. With views of yachts, ships and the skyline of Aarhus Ø, it is one of the city's most beautiful places to enjoy an afternoon beer or the last glass of the evening. The terrace is furnished with sturdy tables, parasols and subdued lighting, giving the place a café atmosphere with the tranquility of the harbor and the city life as a backdrop.
When the sun sets, it becomes almost magical. The lights are turned on along the quay, the conversations continue, and the atmosphere goes from lively to dreamy. This is where you find yourself in the middle of Aarhus – and yet it feels like a holiday.
A place for everyone – from beer nerds to families with children
Hantwerk is for everyone. Young students, families with children, couples, colleagues and retirees come here, and everyone naturally falls into the welcoming atmosphere. There is room for conversation, laughter, reflection and a few hours in good company.
Whether you come to nerd out on beer, drink wine, eat tapas or just feel the pulse of Aarhus at the harbor, Hantwerk is a place that is remembered – and to which many return. Not least because of the staff, who help to elevate the experience with both professionalism and friendliness.
