Every single Friday and selected Saturdays during the summer, thousands of guests gather in front of the big stage in Tivoli Friheden. Leading up to the start of the concert, you can feel a buzz of anticipation in the air as people gather in small groups, talk, laugh and prepare for the upcoming concert. Some pick up food from eateries, which is enjoyed on the grass in front of the stage before the start, while others fill up the many restaurants well before heading off to find a seat before the music starts.

The waiting time before the concert starts is also used to enjoy the park's many amusements, or simply for a relaxing walk around the park to absorb the festive atmosphere. As the clock approaches 20 p.m., the lawn in front of the stage begins to fill with expectant guests, all ready to be part of the evening's musical experience

The magic of Fat Friday in Tivoli Friheden

Tivoli Friheden has organized Fed Friday since 2004, and it is a tradition that has only become more popular with time. In 2022, the newly renovated main stage and the surrounding area were inaugurated, which has added a whole festival atmosphere to the park. When the concert area is full, there is room for around 17.000 people in shared musical excitement.

Around the lawn there are stalls with draft beer and cocktails, and if you would like to experience the concert from a higher angle, you have the option of this, in one of the three Roofbars that rise above the crowd.

As you let yourself be carried away by the music and dusk sets in, a magical atmosphere falls over the entire park, created by the beautiful old beech trees that surround the concert area. And when the concert ends, you have the opportunity to stroll over to Hermans for an after-party for an hour or two. Talk about the concert while the DJ makes sure to entertain with the music and maybe even take a dance or two on the dance floor.

Fed Friday in Tivoli Friheden is more than just a concert – it's a full experience day filled with music, celebrations and togetherness. It is a place where you can experience the music, enjoy the wonderful atmosphere of the park and share unforgettable moments with friends and family. It is a tribute to music, to summer evenings and to community.

Recommendation for the perfect Fat Friday experience in Tivoli Friheden

I have gradually experienced many Fat Fridays in Friheden. Before the remodeling of the entire stage area, as my best seat is by the lamp post to the left of the small stage. Close to the stall with draft beer and a place where I always got into conversation with many of the people who passed by. When I wasn't standing right up front, close to the stage and singing along to the well-known songs.

Since 2023, with the inauguration of the new stage area, I have found my new favorite place. It is undoubtedly right in front of the sound house. From here you have the perfect view and sound experience for the big stage, and you are just around the corner from one of the many bars.

But before I get that far, I've usually had a few hours of fun in the park firmly attached to my wrist, where I've once again tried to get the record in the Neon Ninja 5D cinema. My go-to places to eat are the two new places behind the main stage, Madscenen and Backstage. It is so cozy here, the food is delicious and the staff are incredibly friendly. If I'm lucky, I can score one of the deckchairs by the gin bar, where I relax and enjoy the live music and atmosphere that builds the pre-concert excitement. When the time is right, I head to my new favorite spot, right in front of the sound house, and get ready for the evening's musical highlight. For me, it's the perfect way to experience Fat Friday in Tivoli Friheden.
