The world situation 2026: War, peace and the new world map

The world in 2026 is at a historic turning point. As the old superpowers struggle for a foothold and new conflicts simmer, the global agenda is moving faster than ever before. Join us for a highly topical update on global politics as a panel of the country's leading experts sheds light on the power struggle for the future.

The global balance of power is shifting dramatically. The United States faces internal and external challenges that test the very foundations of its superpower status, while the EU struggles to find its place under increasing pressure. At the same time, Russia continues its aggression, and Africa has emerged as a pivotal point where economic opportunities and great power interests collide.

For this event at Dokk1, we are bringing together a strong panel to analyze the complexity of 2026. Professor Marlene Wind sheds light on Europe's role, while Associate Professor Jakob Tolstrup and Postdoc Ane Edslev Konradsen analyze the underlying political shifts. The conversation is guided and put into perspective by Sanne Gram Fadel, who as foreign editor at DR has her finger directly on the global pulse.

This is the evening for those of you who want to go behind the headlines and understand the invisible threads that tie war, peace and great power politics together in an unpredictable time.
