The
Cybercrime, espionage, hybrid warfare, terror and misinformation are among the threats Denmark must address in an increasingly complex world.
At this lecture on Dokk1, former intelligence chief Lars Findsen provides insight into what the threats look like and what could happen if Denmark is hit on a larger scale.
He talks about the methods used to attack digital systems, influence public debate and weaken the population's trust in authorities and democratic institutions.
The lecture also takes a closer look at how authorities, companies and individual citizens can better protect themselves.
Information warfare is carried out through fake news and distortions of reality, among other things. The purpose can be to influence our views on important issues and create doubt about the institutions on which society is built.
Lars Findsen explains how this form of influence can be recognized and why the distinction between war, crime and political interference has become less clear.
He draws on two decades of experience from central positions in Danish security and defense policy.
Lars Findsen is a Master of Laws and former head of both the Danish Police Intelligence Service and the Danish Defence Intelligence Service. He has also been a Minister's Secretary and Head of Department in the Ministry of Defence.
As head of FE, he was also the head of the Center for Cybersecurity. Today, he is involved in a cybersecurity network for private companies.
In 2022, he published the book Spy Chief – Memories from Cell 18.
