Experience Verdi's classic love drama when The Royal Opera performs 'La traviata' in a lavish and moving production.
At one of her lavish parties, the famous courtesan Violetta meets the young Alfredo Germont. They fall head over heels in love, and Violetta chooses to follow her heart – away from a life of luxury and towards love. But their happiness is short-lived. Reality catches up with the two lovers, and soon their love is put to a relentless test.
'La traviata' is one of the world's most beloved operas, with some of the most iconic melodies in opera history. Director Richard Eyre's production is both seductive and deeply moving – an experience that strikes right to the heart. Soprano Ermonela Jaho takes on the role of Violetta with intense presence.
