The Muld variety celebrates its 30th anniversary on Radar

In March 2026, you can experience the legendary pioneers of the folktronica genre, Sorten Muld, as they mark 30 years on the Danish music scene.

It all started back in 1996, when the band played their very first concert in Copenhagen – the same year the capital was European City of Culture. No one knew then that their debut album Mark II and its follow-up III would become so important. The bold mix of medieval ballads and electronic beats paved the way for a whole new universe and became a source of inspiration for musicians for many years.

Now, three decades later, Sorten Muld is still in full force. The audience has followed suit, and the music has proven to be both timeless and innovative. On the anniversary tour, which hits Radar on Saturday, March 7, 2026, you can look forward to a concert that unites old classics with new nuances – this time with the addition of Middle Eastern instruments such as saz and oud, which give the music even more layers.

At the center is Ulla Bendixen's voice, surrounded by a sextet that moves from quiet, present moments to powerful outbursts, where the sound of the North unfolds completely.

Over the years, the press has called Sorten Muld both “intoxicating, unique and exclusive” (GAFFA) and a “resurrected folktronica phenomenon” (Page 33). On Radar you can experience why – up close.

On stage:

  • Ulla Bendixen: vocals
  • Henrik Munch: electronics
  • Martin Ottosen: keys, key harp etc.
  • Orhan Özgur Turan: saz and oud
  • Niels Kilele: percussion, strings etc
  • Tommy Nissen: drums
  • Johannes Hejl: double bass

Practical:

  • Time: Doors at 7:00 PM, concert at 8:00 PM
  • Location: Radar
  • Admission: 300, -

Buy a ticket and join us as Sorten Muld celebrates three decades with a concert that moves between tradition and innovation.
