Taste of the world: An exclusive evening in the Greenhouses
Experience botany with all your senses after closing time
Why does chili make us sweat and hiccups? Is a coconut really a nut? And what are those little black dots inside the banana? If you are curious about nature's wonderful pantry, the Greenhouses in Aarhus invite you to the popular and taste-surprising summer tours: "Taste the world in Aarhus".
As a special treat, guests have the Greenhouses all to themselves, as tours take place after hours. It's a unique chance to experience the tropical tranquility and smell the plants after the other visitors have gone home.
A tour of taste experiences
Along the way, our skilled facilitators guide you through the different climate zones, where we delve into the plants' amazing properties:
-
Chili & Cactus: Hear about the wild reactions the body has to spicy food, and find out if cactus really is the cure for hangovers.
-
Lotus & Bananas: Taste the seeds of the lotus plant and learn the truth about the inner mysteries of the banana.
-
Exclusive tastings: The tour includes small tastings that bring the stories close to your taste buds.
Practical information
- Times: Two rounds per evening: 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM.
-
Place: The greenhouses in the Botanical Garden, Peter Holms Vej.
-
Participants: Max 16 participants per tour to ensure an intimate experience.
Price
-
95 DKK (+ fee) per ticket. The price includes tastings along the way.
