Japan in Change – Lecture in the Old City
Are you fascinated by Japanese culture, but curious about the deeper changes the country is going through in recent years? On January 27, Den Gamle By invites you to an exciting afternoon lecture with journalist and author Asger Røjle Christensen. In the atmospheric setting of the Helsingør Theater, you can learn more about why the Japanese people's self-understanding and their place in the world are currently being shaken.
Asger Røjle Christensen has followed developments in East Asia for 40 years and has lived in Tokyo as a correspondent. Drawing on his extensive knowledge and his recent book Geisha, he takes you behind the facade and explains the fundamental questions facing Japan today. It is an obvious opportunity for you who want to better understand one of the world's most fascinating powers.
Program for the afternoon
- 4:15 PM: Doors open at Theaterporten. Make sure to arrive early so you can find a seat in the historic theater.
- 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM: Lecture “Japan in Change” with Asger Røjle Christensen.
- 6:00 PM: The lecture ends. For those of you who have ordered dinner, it will be served immediately after the lecture.
