Take a seat in the Music House Park and let yourself be seduced by atmospheric opera in the open air, when a forgotten Danish composer is given new life in the summer sun.
The opera troupe Heiberg og Hansen presents Kong Hroars Skjalde – a scaled-down premiere of selected highlights from Tekla Griebel Wandall's dramatic opera from the early 1900s. A work that almost disappeared into oblivion, but is now reborn as a tribute to the overlooked women in both history and music.
The performance brings together three strong soloists on stage: soprano Laura Helene Hansen, known from the DR series Den næste Diva, and mezzo-sopranos Kirsten Voss and Nana Bugge Rasmussen – accompanied by pianist Louise Schrøder.
You get close to both a grieving queen, a jealous sister and a loving mother when the characters Yrsa, Skulde and Svafa step forward in the open space and give new life to Tekla Griebel Wandall's expressive and playful tone.
A special summer evening where opera history gets a new chapter – under the open sky and with free admission.
