Free opening at ARoS with “Step Inside”

Are you ready to have your senses stimulated and your consciousness challenged? On Friday, February 6, ARoS Aarhus Art Museum invites you to a grand and open vernissage. This evening we celebrate the opening of the special exhibition Step Inside, and everyone is welcome to an evening filled with international contemporary art, community and a very special atmosphere.

Step Inside is the second part of ARoS' trilogy Making New Worlds. Here you can immerse yourself in immersive environments created by four of the world's most influential artists: Anicka Yi, Philippe Parreno, Laure Prouvost and Pamela Rosenkranz.

Art that can be felt on your own body

The exhibition is not just something you look at – it's something you step into. The four works revolve around cutting-edge topics such as biotechnology, artificial intelligence, climate and the relationship between man and machine. As museum director Rebecca Matthews explains, immersive art is part of ARoS' DNA, and Step Inside is designed to engage audiences in entirely new ways.

It is art that arises from the encounter between your body, your senses and your consciousness. Prepare to be surprised, challenged and perhaps even a little confused as the alternative worlds open up to you on Level 1.

Program for the evening

ARoS is making something special out of the opening, and you are invited to toast with:

  • 5:00 PM: The museum opens its doors with free admission for everyone.
  • 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM: ARoS hosts a glass of wine, which can be enjoyed on Level 4.
  • 5:30 PM: Official welcome and opening speech on Level 4.
  • 5:45 PM: The Step Inside exhibition officially opens on Level 1.
  • 8:00 PM: The museum closes for tonight.

ARoS Café and the Orangeriet on Level 4 are open all evening, so you can combine the art experience with a light meal in beautiful surroundings.

  • Price: Free admission for everyone. You don't need a ticket, just show up.
