Winter jazz: Carlo Ahead & Rezwan Taha on turquoise

An evening of both explosive energy and heartfelt presence is in store when turquise opens its doors during Vinterjazz. The program offers a dynamic meeting between Mund de Carlo and a live band, as well as poetic tones from Rezwan Taha.

The main name Carlo Ahead is the result of a musical clash between rapper Mund de Carlo and the instrumental collective Ahead. The collaboration arose spontaneously, but has developed into a solid unit that unites the technical precision of hip-hop with the playful improvisation of jazz. The audience can expect a hand-played and lively soundscape, where the beats are created in the moment and challenge the classic concert form.

The evening begins with a completely different atmosphere delivered by Rezwan Taha. Her vocals and lyrical universe draw threads between Nordic melancholy and Kurdish warmth. These are songs filled with longing and hope, delivered with a rare presence. She is supported by Sebastian Rønde Thielke, who adds subtle electronic layers to the music with samples and synths.

It will be an evening of great contrasts, where the common denominator is the high musical quality and personal expression.
