Andreas Odbjerg brings sunshine to Northside despite mud and rain
Andreas Odbjerg delivered an unforgettable concert at Northside Festival, which despite mud and rain managed to bring sunshine to the audience. The Danish singer-songwriter, who two years ago held his first big concert precisely at Northside, did not disappoint this time either. Odbjerg was back to give a show full of hits and heartwarming moments.
The Astra stage was full of expectant festival-goers who, despite the muddy Eskelund, had struggled to secure a good seat.
However, the weather was not entirely on Odbjerg's side from the start. As he himself said with a smile: "It must be a bit of a piss today." And even when the rain poured down shortly after the hit "Feeler mig selv 100" the audience was not shaken.
The audience, from the very young to the elderly, sang along without worrying about a little extra mud between their toes. The raincoats came on and off, depending on whether the sun was peeking out or hiding behind the rain. "It takes a lot of willpower to keep standing in the rain," Odbjerg shouted over the microphone.
Andreas Odbjerg is not a great dancer. Despite that, he gave it full throttle on stage with dance moves in all directions and facial expressions that matched the music.
And while one radio hit after another was launched over the edge of the stage, Odbjerg sent hearts and hugs down to the audience. There was no doubt that, despite many festival concerts over the past two years, he was still grateful to his audience.
An encore with Aarhus tribute
The extra tracks featured the hit "Stor mand", a song Odbjerg has made together with Tobias Rahim. A perfect song for a concert in Aarhus, and the audience shouted along to the lyrics "Here, I give you my heart in Aarhus...".
While the sun's rays fought through the dark rain clouds, Odbjerg ended his concert with the song "I morgen er der ogsk en dag".
