A port with heart and history

Aarhus Marina is a vibrant center where you can enjoy the sight of both state-of-the-art yachts and historic wooden ships. The area is known for its relaxed and cozy atmosphere, which attracts people from all over the city all year round. Here you can stroll along the Havnepromenaden and Fiskerivej, while following the life on the water, where both sailboats and paddleboards glide by.

The largest wooden ship port in the Nordic region

At the northern end of the harbor lies Aarhus Træskibshavn, which is the largest port of call for classic wooden ships in the Nordic region. With Riis Skov on one side and the modern buildings on Aarhus Ø on the other, a fantastic visual contrast is created. You can often see up to 80 wooden ships at the quay, with their tall masts swaying in the wind. Some of the ships are inhabited year-round, so you will often meet the permanent residents as they go about their daily chores on deck. Every year in June, the harbor also hosts a popular Midsummer Eve with live music and bonfires.

Fresh fish from the country's oldest shop

If you love seafood, this part of the harbor is a true paradise. P. Clausens Fiskehandel has been selling fish from the harbor since 1888, making it the country's oldest of its kind. Here you will find everything from local Danish fish to exotic specialties from abroad. You can also visit Havnens Fiskehus, which supplies both the city's restaurants and private individuals with fresh produce from all over the world, including Iceland, Scotland and the Maldives.

Gastronomy and popular bars by the water

The marina's dining options offer something for everyone. You can visit Squid and enjoy the view from their large terrace or learn to cook gourmet food at Timm Vladimirs Køkken. If you are into French inspiration, Restaurant Anker worth a visit while Restaurant Det Glade Vanvid offers a simple and complete concept with everything included.

When thirst strikes, WineDenmark one of the most popular places to enjoy a glass of wine. If you're more into craft beer, you should visit Craft, where the local brewery Humbleland is located right behind the bar.
